BIG PRIZES AT SHOW
Morrinsville Society’s Effort
Special efforts are being made by the Morrinsville A. and P. Society to encourage large entries in the classes for fat cattle suitable for the chilled beef trade at its 1936 show. , A ten guinea cup and £6 is offered as the first prize in the class for one steer most suitable for the chilled beef trade. Preference is given to the exhibit between 6001 b and 7001 b weight. The first prize (on hoof) is a challenge cup valued at £lO 10s, donated by Wilson Meats, Ltd. (London), the holder to receive a replica each year. Another cup, valued at £lO 10s, has been donated by W. and R. Fletcher Ltd. as the prize in the class for one heifer suitable for chilling. There are also big cash prizes. Other good prizes are offered for the best carcases when judged on the hooks at Horotiu and later at Smithfield on arrival 1 in England. Donations have been received for these classes from '• a number ;of farmers and business : firms.
