WAIHOU. Prices Firm for All Classes. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company’s Waihou sale on Friday a good yarding of fat cattle was sold at prices well up to recent quotations. Yearling heifers showed an easing tendency. A small yarding of fat pigs met with spirited competition, values for all classes showing an improvement on last sale. A large entry of stores and weaners also met with keen demand, and the whole yarding was sold at prices on a par with previous sales.

There was a smaller yarding of dairy cattle, competition for all classes being slightly firmer than at last sale.

Cattle. — Fat steers, to £6. Medium fat steers, £5 7s to £5 10s. Light fat steers, £3 13s to £4 12s 6d. Heavy fat heifers, £4 8s to £4 14s. Lighter fat cows, £2 19s to £3 18s. Heavy fat cows, £4 3s to £4 15s. Medium fat cows, £2 14s to £3 15s. Lighter fat cows, £2 to £2 12s 6d. Forward-conditioned cows, £1 13s to £2. Boners, 10s to 325. Yearling Jersey heifers, 36s to 37s 6d.

Pigs.— Medium baconers, £2 2s. Light baconers and heavy porkers, 35s to 395. Medium porkers, 29s to 325. Light porkers, 25s to 28s. Large stores, 19s to 225. Smaller stores, 16s to 19s. Slips, 12s to 15s 6d. Good weaners, 12s to 14s. Smaller weaners, 8s to 10s 6d. Dairy Cattle. — Choice Jersey heifers close to profit, £7 to £8 ss. Other good Jersey heifers close to profit, £5 to £6 10s. Backward and small heifers, £3 J7s 6d to £4 10s. Best dairy cows close to profit, £4 to £5. Other cows, £2 5s to £3 10s. Sheep.— Fat wethers, to 20s 3d. Fat ewes, to 15s. Fat hoggets, 14s 9d to 15s 9d. MORRINSVILLE. An average yarding of stock sold at current rates at Dalgety and Co.’s Morrinsville sale on Friday.
