THE LONDON MARKET.

The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has received the followingcable from its London office, dated July 28, advising- that the following were the approximate average prices realised for the week: —

New Zealand Lambs.—Canterbury: 861 b and under Gid, 371 b to 421 b 6id, 431 bto 501 b6d ; second quality, average 321 b, 52d. Other South Island brands : 361 b and under 6id, 371 b to 421 b 6Jd, 431 bto 501 b 6d. Selected North Island brands (including Downs): 361 b and under 62d, 371 b to 421 b 6:1 d, 431 b to 501 b 6d; second quality, average 321 b, 5 Id. Other North Island brands: First quality, 361 b and under 61d, 371 b to 421 b 61d. New Zealand Sheep.—Canterbury and North Island selected crossbred wethers and maiden ewes : 481 b to 561 b 4|d, 571 b to 641 b 35d, 651 b to 721 b 30d. North Island crossbred wethers and maiden ewes: 481 b to 561 b 4isd, 571 b to 641 b 3id, 651 b to 721 b 3id. Ewes: 481 b and under 33d, 481 b to 641 b 3d, 651 b to 721 b 22d.

New Zealand Beef. —Ox fores 2id, ox hinds 2§d.

Lamb Market.—Steady, with good undertone. Mutton Market.—Wethers: Steady, with good demand. Ewes : Market dull.

Beef Market.—Trade slow owing to low prices of Argentine chilled beef.

New Zealand Porker Pigs.—Market dull, with very little business doing. New Zealand Baconer Pigs.—Market steady and unchanged.
