RED CROSS (Queenstown Branch).
The monthly meeting of the Red Cross Society was held in the Mackenzie Hall on Thursday last when Mrs W. A. Anderson presided over an excellent attendance. A proposal that an emergency box be prepared for local use was discussed at some length. It was, decided that the money raised by the proposed trip on the Barnslaw. to be advertised Later. _be devoted to this peace-time activity. The emergency box would them be available in the event of Local calamity. accident or war. The president had brought .patterns from Dunedin of articles, required in military hospitals. Members decided not to* begin work! bin these until made-up specimens of the work were available from Headquarters. A number of parcels for the Lady Galway Guild were handed in at the meeting.
