PERSONAL NOTES.

Mr and Mrs P. J. O’Connell of Invercargill have entered into possession of Beach House. Mrs Pottinger and family, Invercargill, have come to Queenstown for the school holidays, Mr and Mrs R. Climie of Maori Pt. left for Dunedin Last week. Mr P. Hansen lias been visiting Invercargill. Mr A. Tarrant is visiting Invercargill and Dunedin. Mrs Bert. Hume of Glenorchy is visiting Invercargill. Mrs G. Curie has gone 'to Dunedin on a short holiday. Mrs J. J. Mcßride is visiting Invercargill and Dunedin. Miss Treloar of Kinloch has gone to Invercargill for the school holidays. MrJ. Hannan, of Auckland, paid a flying visit to Queenstown over the week-end. He was the guest of his gister, Mrs T. McNeil. Mr and Mrs E. 11. Wilson of Invercargill are spending a week in Queenstown. Mr Wilson is the architect for the new Post and Telegraph office Mr M. Bennison has returned from a fortnight’s holiday spent in Southland . Mr J. A. Lindsay, District Traffic Manager, and Mr W. A. Roberts, of Invercargill, accompanied by Mr Decide, garage foreman, Woburn, paid a brief official visit to Queenstown last week. Captain R. Kano and Mrs Kane and family, of Wellington, are the guests of Mr and Mrs R. J. Puller. Mrs Brassington and Mrs Spence of of Wellington are holidaying in Queenstown. Messrs E. R. Bremncr and W. Tuck of Invercargill are spending a few days in Queenstown. Miss Allen of the staff of the Public School at .Arrowtown, is spending the term holidays at Gore. Mrs T. Donaldson and Miss _ D. McSoriley returned to Invercargill on Saturday. Miss Josie Shepherd, school teacher at Crown Terrace, is spending the ,school vacation in Invercargill.

Mr and Mrs Wm. Elliott have returned to Birchdale Station _ after spending a holiday in Dunedin and Christchurch. Mr Geo. Murchison is the guest of his parents, Mr and Mrs D. F. Murchison. Miss Rita McNeill of Dunedin is the guest of her mother, Mrs McNeill, One Mile Road. Miss Jean Sharpe of Glenorchy is the guest of her aunt, Mrs Chartres., at Te Anau Downs Station. The members of the local Public school staff, Misses Strang, McLees, and Smith, left on Friday to spend the term holidays in Southland. Miss I- McLeod, teacher at the Rees Valley school, is spending the school vacation with her people at Mandeville, Mr and Mrs N. Macdonald and family left on Sunday to spend the the term holidays in Southland. Messrs. Ron Sloane and Geo. Stubbles of Invercargill spent the weekend in Queenstown. The following pupils, who are attending secondary schools, arc spending the school vacation with their parents in Queenstown (Misses Alison McDowall, Kathleen Lee, Betty Hales, Margaret Scott, and Tom Luckie. , r _ Misses Cicely Dagg, Stella McCormick, and Kathleen Hamilton _ are spending the school holidays in Invarcargill. Mrs 0. Clayton has returned from an extended holiday spent in Auckland. Mr G. D. Morris, of the Cromwell branch of the Bank of N.Z. has been transferred to Queenstown. Mr and Mrs Rex Royds and their little daughter, of Invercargill, have come to Queenstown for the school vacation. Mrs E. K. Mills and Mrs Banvsdalc, of Invercargill are in Mrs Curie’s house for the holidays* The Misses Jessie and Helen Burns ol the nursing staff of Seaclilf Mental hospital, are spending their vacation with their parents, Mr and Mrs A. Burns, Melbourne St.

Mr Seymour has been transferred from the Post and Telegraph office at Gore to the Queenstown office and took up duty recently. Ho was accompanied by Mrs Seymour. Mr C. D. F. Webb of the local Exchange staff, is doing relieving duty at Athol. Mr and Mrs W. G. Wright and their daughter Jean, of Gore, motored through to Queenstown on Saturday. Mr Wright returned home on Sunday, but Mrs Wright and Miss Jean will remain for a week as the guests of Mrs Wright’s mother, Mrs H. J. Robins.

Mr B Esq nil ant, who was teller in the local branch of the Bank of N.Z. has resigned and gone to 'Wellington, where he will, join the staff of the Burroughs Adding Machine Co. Mr R. L. Wigley, managing director of the Jit. Cook Tourist and S. Lakes Go. paid a short visit to Queenstown during last week. Mrs Samuel of Dunedin has been the guest of her sister, Mrs E. Monson, the last week. Her two sons, Messrs J. A. and F. Samuel, came up to Queenstown at the week-end for the funeral of the late Mr Monson.
