A sharp earthquake was felt in Queenstown at 0.45 on Saturday last.

The secretaries of the Central Shotover Gold Mining Co., Ltd report a return of 63ozs. from the last wash-up.

The Queenstown Municipal Brass Band's sixth fortnightly progressive euchre and dance was held in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening. The patronage accorded the function was very encouraging, and it is pleasing to note that the quality of entertainment was as satisfactory as ever. The prizes wen; won. by Hiss Bearn (lady) and Mr W. If. Me Ison (gent), the consolations going to Mrs A. Bandrebe and K. Lloyd. The prizes were kindly given by Mrs A . Landrebe, Mrs "Mil Is, and Mr E .J. Lowen. The refreshments were supplied by the following: Mesdames A. Lardrcbo, Herbert. L. Lee, J. Harbor, 0. M. Higlis, T. Luckie, J. 1). Seekun, J. Bitcide, L. J. Lynch, J. B. Hamilton, Misses Luckie and Mulholland. The music for the dance was supplied by Mrs Lloyd (piano), 11. Mitchell (banjo), and Pat. MoSorilcy (violin).
