LAKE COUNTY COUNCIL VERSUS MINING
(TO THE EDITOR OF LAKE WAKATIP MAII.)
Sir,—Would you kin>l!y permit nie to call your attention to the last meeting of the County Council in reference to Fred. Jones and party to abstain from working the jjrouud. In the tirst place Mr Hanger Adair explains that it is a mining reserve. Then *hy am I not allowed to work it? Secondly, he (Mr Adair) says there is no gold in it. How can he or any other man tell that? Thirdly, as to working the County road. Now the road does iiot run through my JX'R". As for the "spite" they talked alwut, I have not spoken to Mr Fletcher six times in my life, and I do not bear him any rooted antipathy ; ncr do I bear him or any other man spite ; hut he will bear spite to nv and all my class as lonif as the Council jjrant him the land they have no to grant, and then try to give him tint they should give the miuei.—l am, etc.,
