GLEANERS' UNION.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting'' of the Gleaners' Union was held last evening at the Y.M.C.A. rooms, the Ven. Archdeacon Haggitt presiding over a large attendance. The twentysixth annual report stated that tho wcrk of the union had been well maintained daring tho year. The membership now stood nt 176. The 6um in hand for the- Bryan Brown Memorial Fund had reached £IOO, and it was hoped that £SO would be sdded later on. Regret wa3 expressed at tho less that had been sustained by tho organisation by the death of Mr J. W. Twentyman, who had been' secretary for two years. Two study circles had .been started • during tho winter, and they had been very successful. Addressee on various aspects of missionary activities were delivered by Archdeacon Kaggitt and. Mr G. Stering. Tho Kov F. C. Long, a, missionary from India, detailed his experiences in that country. . . The following officers were elected:—President, Mr J. Holloway; vice-president, Miss Bowidillon; honorarv secretary and treasurer. Miss M. C. Fryer; committee, Rev C. C. Oldham, Bev A Purchas and Misses Bower, Cooper, Prycr. Ilickinbottorn, Hull, Inwood. Manson and Messrs W, Orango and G. Stening.
