SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

ELMWOOD. The Elmwood School Committee met on Monday; present—Messrs W. Jones (ohairtnan), Baxter, Gibson, Musgrove, "Webb and the secretary. The chairman reported that he had banked £232 for the school improvement fund. The Picnic Committee reported on arrangements for a picnic on December 7. The Xaiapoi Company wro'e inviting the elder pupils to visit their works, and it was decided that tho invitation should be hold over. Mr Gibson reported that fire drill was he'd on October 16, and in two minutes and a half the scholars were out of the school and in their appointed positions away from the school. It was decided to purchase another set of basket-ball apparatus. Fhe inspector's report was received, and was considered highW satisfactory. Accounts amounting to £46 were passed for payment.
