THIS WEEK'S WAR ILLUSTRATIONS. The illustrations that will appepr in this week's issue of the "Canterbury Times" cover a wide field of subjects, all of absorbing interest at the presant time. Of course the prominent features will be scenes from different portions of the war area, chief among them being pictures portraying the visii of Lord Kitchener to the Dardanelles and a series of views dealing with the doings of. the New Zealand and Australian troops in Egypt- Lnd'er the heading of " Loyal Comradeship in Arms." there will appear an interesting engraving, picturing Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany, Czar Ferdinand of Bulgaria, Emperor Franz Josef of Austria, and Sultan Mehmed V. of Turkey. It is a fine sample of a trick in photograpliy, for, of course, no such meeting has taken place. There will be many pictures devoted to different phases of the war in the Balkans, which will give an idea "of the terrible sufferings the men are called upon to endure while fighting in the-snow and manoeuvring on almost impassable roads. A full page of snapshots will appear showing the New Zea landers enjoying a happy day at the military camp at Zeitun, Egypt. This picture is of especial interest to people in this Dominion. A fine view will also be given of the ship's H.M.S. Philomel, a cruiser well known in New Zealand. Among other interesting subjects, there will appear views of the New Zealand and Australian wounded soldiers in hospital in Egypt and other scenes w«;iec*eirl with the life of the soldier in far-off lands. Tlie literary pages will be found up to the usual high standard and cannot fail to interest and instruct all classes of readers. The '•'Canterbury Times" will be on sale locally from noon to-morrow.
