OBITUARY.

MR THOMAS G. WRIGHT. Mr Thomas George Wright, a veteran printer and pressman, died yesterday at the age of eighty-two years. The late Mr Wright was a well-known figure in Press circles in Christchurch, and he retired only four -years ago. He was.trained originally, as a compositor. but afterwards joined the Navy and served on the Ohina coast during the troubles there and also in the Crimea. He was present at the fall of Sebas-, topol- On leaving the Navy Mr Wright came to Christchurch, where he was employed for some years as a compositor in the "Lyttelton Times" Office. He then went to Dunedin and served in the" Star" Office there. On returning to Christchurch he joined the "Press" as a reader, and held the position for nearly forty years. He was an ardent horticulturist, and possessed a valuable collection of ferna and rare plants at his residence in Linwood. He is survived by a son and' three daughters.
