TAXATION.
TO THE EDITOR,
Sir. —Tt is a strange' method of taxation Mr Withy advocates in Saturday’s paper when he says the burden should. Iks placed on’ “ com mu ui' v-c:re at ed values.” Who. then, can ©scope, as all livings are made through tho community? The working man would be a kind of Robinson Crusoe, and no need of taxation without a community; but through .community-created values ho gets eight or nine shillings a day for his labour, and according to Mr Withy’s philosophy that should be refunded lo the community in the form of taxation. This seems to me even more'of a. fallacy than the single tax. —I am, etc.,
