ACTION AGAINST STATE TREASURER. United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copvright. MELBOURNE, May 7. Mr Watt, State Treasurer, was cited for contempt of Court in refusing to obey a mandamus to grant a liquor license at Wonthaggi. In connection with this ease the Full Court upheld Mr Watt’s refusal, on the ground that Neal, tho applicant for tho license, was not the one in whose name the application was made. Tho Court ordered that tho writ of mandamus against M r Watt must not issue, at the same timo ruling that Mr Watt as Treasurer was not a privileged person and must obey the law like anyone elsa.
