BOWLING.
A representative meeting of residents of Sumner was held last evening in tho Sumner Borough Council Offico to discuss a proposal to form a bowling club. The Mayor cf Sumner, Mr IT. J. Marriner, was in tho chair. On the motion of Mr Bawnsley, seconded by Mr Boulton, it was resolved that it was desirable that a bowling club should be fnimed in Sumner, and Messrs Smithson, Boulton, Rawnsloy, Buttle, Burns and Hislop were appointed a committee to secure information. The tcue of tho discussion indicated that tho project would have a largo amount of support. Mr Hislop was temporarily appointed secretary. 1 Messrs F. W. Johnston and D. E. Wood, of the St Albans Bowling Club, who had attended tho meeting in order to assist the movement, were accorded a vote of thanks for their services. Several donations wore promised before the meeting concluded.
