Bates's summary and forecast: —Moderate tp strong westerly winds have prevailed .north of Kawhio. and Castle Point, with cloudy weather. Hi' elsewhere mostly high westerly winds and rain hnvp been experienced. The barometer lias remained low and unsteady in the extreme south, but has fallen slowly olsewhere. The present indications are for unsettled and cloudy weather generally, probably colder and showery in most part 3. strong north-west wind 3 prevailing over the North Island, and south-west elsewhere, and changing to southerly everywhere shortly, with a rising barometer.
