Letter mails close for the following places as undor, subject to the necessary alterations : Mails per express to Dunedin and South close daily at 7 a.m. and 11.10 a.m.; late fee (i.e., letters bearing Id additional stamp). 11.25 a.m.; also mail van up to S a.m. and guard's van 11.55 a.m. train. Books and newspapers, 7 a.m. and 10.10 a.m. WEHOfIESDAY. OCTOEEB 13. For Northern Porto and Westport, per Mararoa, p.m.; guard's van, 5.25 p.m. train. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14. For Australian States, etc. (due Sydney October 21), India, China, Ceylon, HongKong, Straits Settlements, South Africa, etc., also Continent of Europe and United Kingdom, via Xaples (duo London November 21). per Maori, to connect with Maheno, at 6.15 p.m.; late fee letters, G.SO p.m.; guard's van, 7.-10 p.m. train; money orders, 4 p.m.; registered articles, 5 p.m.; book packets and newspapers. 5.45 p.m. For Northern Ports and Westport, per Moeraki, at _ 3 p.m.:. late fee letters, 3.15 p.m.; guard's van, 4-p.m. train; also, per Victoria, at 4.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 4.30 p.m.; guard's van, 5.25 p.m. train; also, per Maori, at 6.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 6.30 p.m.; guard's van, 7.10 p.m. train. FRIDAY, OCTOBER, 15. For Dunedin. per Manuka and Mokoia, at 11.10 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.25 a.m.; guard's; van, 12.10 p.m. train. The next mail for the United States, Canada, etc., will leave Christchurch on October 22, via San Francisco, and is due in S?.n Francisco on November 14. Ths next mail from the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, is due to arrive in Christchurch as follows;—Letter portion, 0.30 a.m. Wednesday.
