The steamer Atlantic has arrived with 400 more of the Australians who were stranded in South Africa A MURDERER SENTENCED. (Received May 30, 11.8 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 30. , Richard Riley, who killed Rose Arnold fifteen months ago, has beensentenced to death. At th© time of the murder Riley was placed in an asylum as insane. Medical evidence showed that he wais suffering from delusional mania. He recently recovered sanity, and was placed on trial. Prisoner made a statement that he did not feel a guilty man, nor did he bear a guilty conscience. It had pleased God to deprive liim of reason, and God would not hold him responsible for what lie did in that estate.
