Tho widow of the late Mr Richard Cadbury, chocolate manufacturer, was killed by falling downstairs on the liner Empress of India, on the voyage'from Yokohama to Vancouver. A Chinaman was found dead in a cave at Conxoy's Gully, near Alexandra. A little girl named' Dolly Rider, three years of age, daughter of tho caretaker of Hcbbs' Buildings, had a miraculous escape from death on Wednesday afternoon. Th© child's parents occupy rooms at the top of the building, and tho little one was playing on the roof, which is walled in. She was chasing a. cat over tho roof when she stepped upon an unprotected skylight and fell through the glass a distance of thirty feet into a room below. The child was picked up in an unconscious condition and taken to the Hospital, whore her injuries were attended to. She was very little cut or injured externally, but it is feared that she has hurt her back badly, and' will not improbably be permanently crippled.
