Reuter states that while crossing a little bridge on tho grounds of Petit Treanon, Versailles, the horses attached to the- Queen of Norway's and Madamo Falliercs' carriage were frightened. One caught one of its legs in tho palings of the bridge, and swerving, fell into the lake, carrying its postilion. Tho hortso broke its leg, and was shot. Tho man was unhurt. Tho " Chronicle " and " Daily Mail " state that three -horses fell into the lake, nearly dragging tho carriage after them. General Michael, who was in tho carriage, lifted the ladies out, carrying thorn out of danger. King Haakon and M. Falliercs, who crossed tho bridge first, hastened back.
