NORTH OTAGO, [FeOJI OUII COKItESI'ONDEST.] OAMARU, April 2. A week of real good weather has enabled harvesting to proceed uninterruptedly, and except in a few instances, the crops throughout the county have now. been secured. More grain has been stacked this season than usual, fanners being chary of leaving it in stook at this late period. Threshing from the stook and stack is proceeding, and many good yields have j been recorded during the week. A portion of the Land Company's wheat j gave_an average of 77 bushels, and! notwithstanding that some of the crop was smitten by blight, the yield of the whole area averaged 55 bushels. Mr Stuart Holmes obtained 120 bushels of oats per acre from a twenty-three acre paddock, and his whole crop reached an average of 97 bushels. Generally speaking, the wheat coming on the market is in good condition, but some so-tu early in the season is turning out soft, and there have been some refusals to take delivery. A fair amount of business has been, done during the week, mostly in parcels of from 500 to 800 sacks, the principal line sold being of 1400 sacks mixed wheat at 3s 2d at country stations. Prices show a drop of a penny on the week. Sales of good velvet have been chiefly at 3s 2d to 3s 3d, but for a very choice sample 3s 3-Jd was given at country stations, with railage, while 3s 11- was accepted for a line on the Canterbury side of the river. ' For other descriptions prices paid at country stations have been : For Tuscan 3s 2d to 3s 3d, and for Red Chaff 3s Id to 3s 2d. These are prosont quotations, but millers are offering Id less for Red Chaff, and expect a general drop during the incoming week. The offerings of oats are not equal to the demand, the quantity coming on Iho market being unusually small. Good, bright Gartons have been sold up to Is. 7d on trucks at country stations, but" bright samples are rare, and the ruling rates are Is 6d to Is 6\d. For Danish quotations range- from. Is 4d to Is 6?.-, the top rate being for extra choice, Is 5d being about the average paid for good. Duns are very scarce, and command from Is 6d to Is 7d, with a iialf-psnny more for choice. Some barley is offering, but the samples are not suitable for malting, and meet with no buyers. The/.'o is a good inquiry for oaten sheaf chaff, but none is procurable. Potatoes continue an uncertain quantity. Sales of white varieties have boon made during the week at £5 on trucks at country stations, and of Derwenfs, ripe and fit to keep,'at £6.

At Messrs Friedlandor jjrcs'. horse sale, on Saturday, at Afihbui toil, geldings sold uy to £62. At ArJiburton, ou Saturday, :> IS? ,".cro farm at Roliaia, the property of :/!.]■ 'T.
