MEETINGS 0F SOCIETIES.

The monthly meeting of the Queen's Own Lodge, No. 36, Protestant Alliance, was hold on Monday night Bro. B. Jones, W.M.. presided, nnd a largo nuuibru' of "iot.ibevs was present. Oorrespondencs was read from tho Grand Lodge secretary in, Sydney to the effect that the amalgamation of the two Christchurch Lodges, Nob. 30 and 61, with the New Zealand constitutions would take place as from .January 1. The secretary reported that no members were on the sick list, and that only two members had reported on during; the - quarter. It was arranged that the Lodge should hold :i social on tho' next Lodge ni.ctht. Tha D.D.M., Bro. Dclloy, and officers of tho Royal Standard Lodfje, No. CI, paid an official visit. The . receipts for tho evening were about £SO. Tho quarterly meeting of the Loyal Phiilipstown Lodge was held last Tuesday evening. There was a good attendance of members and a number of visiting members were, also present. After a report from the district, meatinr/ bv the delegate Bro Clorreth. I'.F.G'.M., Bro Sandford, of the Kaikoura Lodge, was congratulated on hi:-; c-loction as' D.P.G.M. . After the ordinary business had been gone through tho Locljrc adjourned for harmony.
