CRICKET
A cricket match was played at Lancaster Park on Thursday afternoon between the retail departments of Ashby, Bergh ami Co. and E. Reece and Sons, and resulted in a win for the latter by an innings and 38 runs. Scores: Ashby, Bergh and Co. IS and 108 (W. Wallace 30, Clark 28, Campbell 13, O'Brien 10); E. Reece and Sons 164 (Dixon 55, Robertson 28, Henry 22, all retired, Hayley 11, Throp 10,'Holland 10). Kemp bowled best for Ashby, Bergh and Co., and Henry and Robertson for E. Reece and Sons. The return match, Willis and Aiken versus Whitcombe and Tombs, Limited, was played on Saturday at Lancaster Park, the former winning by 61 runs. Scores: Willis and Aiken 113 (C. Aiken 77): Whitcombe and Tombs 52 (Pearce 20. Le Comte 13). Aiken and Springer for the winners, and Pearce and Lowry for the losers, bowled best.
