DROUGHT IN AUSTRALIA
MR SEDDON'S OFFER. DEBATE IN THE NEW SOUTH WALES PARLIAMENT. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, Dec. 10. In the Legislative Assembly Mr Carruthers moved that in view of the' serious effects of the drought and the failure of the wheat, harvest the Government ought to make provision for a temporary rebate of the payment of duties on bread-stuffs and fodder as far as practicable, and the importation, on a proper guarantee "for the repayment thereof, of breadstuff's and fodder. He referred to Mr Seddon's offer to send fodder, and eulogised tie action. The debate is proceeding.
