A COMPLAINT.

[Per Press Association.] INVEROARGILL. Sept. 27. At a conference of the Borough and County Councils the bad condition of the main East Road, which is also the road to Invercargill Cemetery was considered. Some strong statements were made against the default of the Government to supply moneys voted by Parliament. Last year a vote of £7OO was on the Estimates for this road, a ; nd £2OO was forwarded, while to requests for the balance sent to the members for Aware a. and Invercargill no replies had, been received. The County Chairman said that it was something serious the way that votes were distributed. Votes practically for no useful purpose were paid in full and urgent works were ignored when repeated applications were made. It was decided' to telegraph to the member for the town on the subject.
