THE RICARDO LIBEL CASE.

Intense interest was taten in the Ricardo case, Bind) th. 6 Court was densely crowded throughout the seven days of the trial. The addresses of counsel occupied several hours. The judge summed up strongly in favour of Oolonel Ricardo. He said that on every other occasion) throughout *he campaign -he had shown great bravery, and was not likely to have shown the whitefeather when stuck in a fence. The weight of evidence was against his having uttered the words attributed to him on/that occasion. The jury, after four hours' retirement, returned a verdict for plaintiff, awarding' £SOO damages, with costs.
