DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY.

There was a very good house at the, .performance of Dix's Gaiety Company last evening. Little Tich, who had nearly recovered from his bad cold, was as popular as ever with his songs and impersonations. Miss Irene Franklin’s items were thoroughly acceptable; Miss Maud Hewson was very well received ; and the rest of the programme thoroughly pleased the audience. This afternoon* there will be a matinee, and this evening Mr W. B. Cadzow, a. tenor not unknown to Christchurch, will make his first appearance with this company at the Opera House. Mr Cadzow had the honour of singing at the State concert given to the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall in Wellington, and was presented to their Royal Highnesses and complimented.
