TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l have read Mr Mackenzie's speech as recorded in “Hansaid,” in Avhieh he attacks, in Avords which no newspaper dare publish, certain gentlemen in England in connection Avith -the. insurance part of the business. He then goes on to attack my company and myself, and in doing so he says ho has a slight grievance' against me. Why 1 know not, unless, perhaps,'because I did not choose to publicly defend my conipanv and myself against ins libellous attacks of last year. Mr Mackenzie says the House of EcprcaraitatiA'-fis is tho, proper place in which to make his statements ; my directors and myself think differently, and in -the meantime are quite prepared to reiy cn the eld proverb that “All things come to those who Avait.” I can,, hoAvever, assure the public, our clients and shareholders, that the company’s business continues, and that avg- continue also to grade upwards of half a milt ton. sheep and lambs yearly , to entire satisfaction of ail concerned, and, moreover, that tho company holds an unique -position, in that its clients cam sell their meat c.i.f. on our factory certificate, AA'ithout the arbitration clause.—l am, etc,, F. WAYMOUTH. Christchurch, August 2, 1901.
