The Ashburton Guards celebrated their se|ond anniversary by. holding a military fancy dress ball on Wednesday evening, wlien,?'despitei the inclement weather, there was a large attendance. Colonel Bailey, the officer commanding the South Canterbury sub-district, and the officers commanding the local corps were 'present.. The music was supplied by Fox's Band.
