At 5.30 p.m. yesterday, a curtain in one of the front rooms' 61 Mr E. J. Ritchie's Reliance Tyre Works, in Armagh Street, near Colombo Street, took fire, and caused a big glare and a large volume of smoke. Two or three men employed at the works promptly pulled down the curtain, and oy throwing it out on the street and stamping on it, extinguished the flames before an alarm was raised.
