TEACHERS’ SALARIES COMMISSION.
[Per Pres? Association.] - WELLINGTON, June 27.
A memorandum from the North Canterbury Women Teachers’ Association was submitted to the Teachers’ Salaries Commission, to-day, making a strong appeal for the principle of equal pay for equal work. It challenges the assertion that women are not physically or mentally capable of teaching higher standards and states that in North Canterbury it has been the practice in mixed schools to assign any standard to women teachers.
