THE OPHIR'S BAND.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I am very pleased indeed to hear that we are to have an opportunity of listening to the above splendid band, but may I humbly suggest a different day and a larger space on which it should perform. On the Monday evening everybody will be busy with the illuminations, and many who would like to hear it will, caving to 'the limited space in Victoria Square, be unable to with any .comfort to themsielvcs. How much better it would be if, instead of Monday evening in Victoria Square, they played say from 2 till 4 en Sunday .afternoon in Hagley Pork. The platforms will be there, witili seats for thousands, and mainy thousands more can promenade without crowding, and thus listen to it in comfort. I do hope that the powers -that bs will see thdr way clear to make this alteration. —I am, etc., LOVER ;0F 3. GOOD BAND. p # S._Another thing I do hope and pray that the firemen's tin collection billies will ba conspicuous by their absence, so that for once in our lives we may have a great treat free, gratis and for nothing.
