HIGHLAND RIFLES CONCERT

The Highland Rifles' concert at the Theatre Royal last night was a< distinct success, from all points of view, the audi-; ence ' being very large, and the programme excellent. The Highland Rifles themselves, gave exhibitions of maze-i-unning, physical drill, gymnastic and bayonet exercises, in very creditable style, and showed that they have made very good use of their first year's training. The Teel o' Tulloch, by four members of the company, secured a most enthusiastic encore, and Signor Borzoni's pupils were almost as well received. Private 0.-Bell's Highland fling was also vi'g-. oiously encored. Mr R. Millen contributed two songs, and Mr P. Hockley sang " There's a Land;" Mrs F. M. B. Fisher,: Miss Lake', Miss Moir and Mr'B. S. Col-' lier also sang, and received well-deserved applause. One of the best items was a pianoforte duet, "La Gazzia. Ladria," by Dr and Mrs Crooke. Dr Crooke was accompanist. '
