THE HAGLEY PARK PLATFORMS.
TO THE JEDITGE. Sir,—ln today's " Times" I. notice a paragraph tb the effect that the Secretary was selling tickets for/ standing room on the platforms behind the seats. Having seen the platforms, I would like to know where people can possibly stand without entirely obstructing the view of those Who are seated. It may be taken for granted that if any people are" admitted to the platforms in excess of the number of seats it will be a case of "first come first seated 1 ," and unless an army of officials is in attendance to remove intruders a good many who have paid 5s for seat® will find themselves compelled to stand. As there will be no use in complaining when it is all over., it will be satisfactory to have some assurance from the Secretary that those who; have bought tickets can srely absolutely on getting seats and an unobstructed view. It is also obvious that the apprehensions which exist as to the safety of the platforms will not be allayed by admitting people in excess of the number they were originally designed to cany.—l am, etc., TICKET-HOLDER.
