THEATRE ROYAL.
"SWEET LAVENDER." The second performance of Pinero's play, " Sweet Lavender," at the Theatre Royal last evening drew another large audience. The performance throughout was a pronounced success, several small defects noticeable on the first production having been removed, and the principals received enthusiastic calls before the curtain.. It is to be 'hoped l that the Christchurch publics may have another opportunitv of seeing " Sweet' Lavender " under M\ same circumstances. Mr W. A. Hall, wr.* lias, in addition to playing the leading role, had the responsibility of the stage management, is to be congratulated, on the success wMeh has crowned Ms efforts.
