CHILDREN’S DEMONSTRATION.
To' THE EDITOR. Sir,—ln your report of the Children’s Sub-committee meeting, held yesterday, it .is stated that practically no children from the Normal, Gloucester Street, or Richmond Schools would go to the Canterbury Hall, as they desired to see the review. By this I infer that the teachers of the Normal School have achieved the object they have beam aiming at for the past fortnight; that is, to induce the children to go anywhere but to the Canterbury Hall. One teacher in the Normal School informed his class that only the country schools were to go; another that she did not think they would be so greedy as to want to go, and after expressing herself in this strain called for a snow of hands, and when three little mites held their’s tip, remarked: “ Well, ■ you would look well marching up to the Hall; but if you want something to eatjrou had better go.” Another dwelt on the pleasures of a picnic with their mothers after the singing was over. • If the other teachers have been playing the some game, it is not to be wondered at that practically no children are going to tjre Hall. If the teachers had reported that they themselves wanted to see the review I could have believed it.—l am, etc., V. D. C. R. \
