HOCKEY.
A match was played at Lyttelton on Thursday afternoon —Lyttelton Seniors v. Lyttelton Ladies, the gentlemen using broom sticks—and after a very close contest the ladies were victorious by three goals to two. The ladies played with good combination, and had an easier win than the scores indicate. Miss E. Childs, the captain, scored the three goals for the ladies. Mr J. T. Brice made a good referee. Afternoon tea was provided' by the gentlemen. On Saturday Christchurch Juniors defeated East Christchurch Juniors by three goals to one. Mr Williamson was referee.
