GYMNASTIC COMPETITIONS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—The facts which I have brought to light have evidently been unpalatable to Mr ff. J. Ward, as his letter in your issue of Feb. 8 is “no argument,” but simply a torrent, of personal abuse. The remark that “I have-outraged every sense of propriety dear to-a sportsman,” etc,, is undoubtedly a libel, as my previous letters prove, and J must remind Sir Ward that' the subject, which had' been fully, discussed in these columns before he joined in, was not “ Personalities,” but “The Judging at the Tournament,” While willing to discuss the matter on fair lines, I cannot accept those adopted by Mr Ward, and decline to have any’ further -discussion with him.—l am, etc., T. H. BARKER, .. Honorary Instructor to St Luke’® Young Men’s Club.
