SCHOOL COMMITTEES’ ASSOCIATION.

■A meeting, convened by circular at the instance of Messrs Brunt and A’Court, w r ais held last night in the Gloucester Street schoolroom, to consider the advisability of resuscitating the School Committees Association. Mr Brunt, was in the chair, and the following were present:—Messrs A’Court, Pauli, Wright, Watson, Lumsden, and Ell, M.H.R.' Apologies for absence were received from a number of other members of School Committees, all of whom, with one exception, were in sympathy with the object of the meeting. It was decided that the Association should bs resuscitated; that a meeting of the representatives of School Committees affiliated to the old Association should be held on April 6 ; and that a circular should be sent out to the School Committees of North Canterbury, inviting them to send delegates to a meeting to be held on May 6. A sub-committee, consisting of Messrs* Brunt, A’Court, and Pauli, was appointed to draft the circular. Mr E. Thompson was appointed secretary for the time being.
