THE ELDERSLIE ESTATE.

[Per Press Association.] OAMARU, March 25. The ballot for sections on the Elderslie Estate took place to-day. The total area of land offered was 11,497 acres, and for 26 allotments there were 44 applicants. Seven applicants were unopposed. Eleven sections were ballotted for, and 8 remain unapplied for. The latter is due to the fact that there were withdrawals and the success of applicants for sections compelled their names being struck out for other sections, for which they only were applicants. The total area, of the sections unapplied for is 3600 acres. [From Our Correspondent.] OAMARU, March 23.
