Wool—At yesterday’s sales cross-breds were firm and merinos irregular, many lots being withdrawn. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 3.180.000 quarters,, and for the Continent 1.205.000 quarters. Shares in the Australian and New Zealand Mortgage Company are quoted at per cent, and debentures at 88^. At the tallow sales 1050 casks were offered and 43 (?) sold. Prices for all kinds were nominally 6d lower. SHIPPING. WELLINGTON, March 22. The Aotea left Monte Video on the evening of March 20, with’ her cargo of meat in good condition. Frozen Meat.—Mutton market firmer.Tallow.—Tallow is dull of sale. Tallow nominally has declined 6d .per cwt since last report. (Last quotations were 30s 9d,. for fine mutton, 29 6d for good beef.).

Since our last telegram prices of tallow in general are lower by 3d to 6d per cwt. No business doing by public auction.
