ATTEMPTED MURDER. PERTH, March 22. A miner named Murdoch has been sentenced to death for the attempted murder of his mate, Clarke, in November last.
Murdock kept Clarke imprisoned in a shaft for two days without food or water, threw down lighted plugs of dynamite, and heat him back several times when he attempted to escape. Clarke was almost dead when he finally managed to get out. THE FROZEN MEAT INDUSTRY. BRISBANE, March 22.
