A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Ti&rly History Carnival, to be held in the' o|>era Hoose next week, in aid of the . .funds "of St Mary's Catholic Church, was- ' held last evening, the Rev Father Marnane " presiding. It was reported that arrangements for the historic drama, under: the management of Signor Borzoni, were progressing favourably. The drama, which was a great success when perfomed by Signor Borzoni, in Dunedin some little time •'ago, deals with the advancement of New Zealand from the state of savagery in which , the first Europeans found it up to its present high state of civilisation. The piece will be staged with full effects, and the performers are all being thoroughly trained in 'their parts. An excellent orchestra has been engaged. The carnival will open on Mon'day evening, and. will remain open for a .fprtnight.
