BANKS v. INSURANCE OFFICES. The annual match between teams representing the Banks and Insurance Offices was plaved yesterday, the Banks winning by 53 runs on the. first innings. The following arc the scores:—BANKS.
The Christ's College-Boys’ High School President’s Cup match was finished yesterday afternoon, when Christ’s College won by nine wickets. The scores were;—Boys’ High School 76 (Friedlander 59 not out, C. H. Mason 25),ar,d 157 (Martin 44, Maude 19, Howell 19, Friedlfinder 16, Byrne 15 not but, C. H.-Mason 10) ; Christ's'College 167 and 69 for one wicket (Wallace 27 not out, G. Cotterill Si not out, FiTer 18). , The most successful bonder for the winners,was L. Bhmden, who, in the second innings of the High School, took seven wickets for 61 runs.
A match between the; Springfield Cricket Club and the “ Old Buffers ” of the Malvern district was played at Sheffield on Saturday, and resulted in a win for Springfield. The scores were—Springfield 92 and 109, “Old Buffers ”74 and 19. For Springfield L. Rutherford scored 50 and 62. and P. Campbell 7 and 15. For.the “Old Buffers” G. Rutherford scored 11 and 6, and Dr Davenport 18 and 1. T. Barker, C. Smith and D. Naesmith bowled for Springfield, while T. Pole, J. Clarke, Captain Woodcock, Ryde and O. Rutherford trundled for the other side. Afternoon tea was provided’ by the ladies.
