MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
The usual monthly meeting of No. 1 No Surrender Orange Lodge was held in the Orange Hall on Thursday evening, when Sister Regan presided. It was decided to hold the annual “social” in - April. The Secretary was instructed to send a letter of condolence to the family of the late Bro Johnston. After the Lodge was closed an open meeting was held, when Sister M’Cready read an excellent paper on “The Life of John Knox.” Addresses were given by Sisters Squires and Willis, and readings by Sister Foster and Bro Caygill. A resolution was passed—“ That this meeting appreciates £he stand taken by Bro Meredith, and Mr Saunders at the recent meeting of the Education Board.”
