AUCKLAND NEWS.
[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, March 24 A petition is being signed to the Minister of Marine, praying that an export duty may be put on oysters. At the inquiry as to the origin of'“the incipient fires at Driving-Creek public school, the verdict was: “That the fires that occurred at Driving-Creek School «a March 6 and 7, were caused maliciously, but there is no evidence to show the cause.”
Hannah Flanaghan, who, it is alleged, attempted to commit suicide by swallowing match-heads, has been committed, for trial.
