TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, —Your correspondent of July 23, signed “ Justices’ Justice,” has hit the nail. He says,' “It - amuses me to hear of certain Justices loudly ridiculing Mr Dacombe’s appointment on the ground of his poverty, &c.” ..In justice to Mr. Dacombe I state his poverty, if it is just to apply that term to bit case, is through’ his meeting with an accident, and what assistance he may receive ,is the law’s gift, and his due. I would remind the public that, the same Mr Dacombe has done more to move the wheels of progress .and assist! his less fortunate fellows than many of the Justices of the Peace now holding- office.— lam, &c., , .
