TO THE EDITOR.. •; ' ■. ■,, . r Sir, —As one who signed the; requisition] (published a few ..days ago in your, paper) _ in reference to. the .cession of -Thessaly to £ the Turks, I object to tho uncalled-for ■ remarks of your correspondent “M,” which • appeared in Saturday’s,.Times. ‘The lady']-, who initiated the petition is one. who has a thorough knowledge of. the question;andknows what, she is talking about as well as what she writes. She .is also held” in,.. high estimation as to ability and intellect in tho minds of the ladies who belong to . the different women’s associations. Sucli. being the case I fail to see the reference to the churches named in. his letter and sneering remark of “ insignificant uoj bodies.” “M.” is evidently one of those . who stand back, but find fault with those that go forward. By- the people of this colony taking a keen interest, in, the doings . of the Home. Government, they bring uk nearer to the Mother Country, and' also, tend to show their mutual value to cac.H otheri—l am, ; &c., ' ■ '
