INDIGNATION MEETING.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l see in to-day's issue of your paper that your correspondent “ Egeria,” thinks that possibly I am acquainted with the class of people of whom I spoke. lam like himself, 1 know nothing of them and do not want to. If that part of my first letter had been printed that was expunged, it would have explained tho whole. I said that on the afternoon of polling day I went with a friend to the Tuam Street Hall to record our votes. On arrival there we came in contact with several people the worse for drink, and of course our common sense told ue that they were not in favour of the Prohibitionists. I hope I have explained myself sufficiently concerning that part of my letter. Enthusiasts and fanatics we are called; but we do not mind that. Satan himself was capable of quoting scripture. As to the reverend gentleman your correspondent refers to, I only wish ho know him as well as I do. I have been in his employ, and know him to be what he professes, a thorough Christian man. As to anything rash being done, I do not think " Egeria ” need be frightened, unless it be when we have obtained that for which we are working. There might then be a little excitement, but aa to any rashness I think that is more likely to belonc, to "Egeria’a” class.—l am, &c,, * R.C.P.
