The half-yearly meeting of the Wellington 'District ' Assemblyof Knights of Labour opened to-day. The following motions 'were . carried" That this Assembly deplores "the want of unity in the action of our members in the House last session, one member showing his utter ignorance of the preamble by asking • who wants the referendum ?’ We would therefore suggest that the * District Assembly endeavour to remedy this want of unity in the ensuing session by writing to t the members of the Order who are in the House, reminding them of what their pledge of honour and the preamble call forj" u That this assembly recognises the need of a united platform on the part of all Labour organisations upon which to fight the next general election, and suggests that the Master Workmen of the'{several local assemblies call a conference in their districts three months prior to each general election, for the above purpose.”
