MINING.
THE LONDONDERRY MINE. [Skkcial to Fez a s Association.] PERTH, Mat 14. Splendid battery stone has been struct in the Londonderry mine at the 100 ft level, and it is rumoured that the famous shoot first struck haa been picked up. Shares rose, and large sales have taken place. The stone, though good, is not of seuaational value. [Pee Pbebs Association.] : ' STAFFORD. Mat 14. _ At an enthusiastic public meeting it was stated that recent prospecting had proved the existence of a payable goldfield over a large area of country until now untried, which cannot he worked until a drainage tunnel has been constructed. The meeting resolved to urge the Government to construct a tunnel, as the opening of the field would solve the unemployed difficulty in Westland.
